Goodbye and hello

We said gooodbye to cape sgulhas and hello to cape town much farmland in between but only two and some hours of driving.

Great day

We saw penguins, a huge waterfall, a whale and her baby, then walked on a deserted beach.

I convinced myself I needed to have a new swatch from switzerland. And hete it is, a beauty.

We went to the whale and shark area of beaches instead of ostrich riding.

Storms river bridge

I love the look of suspension bridges and we were lucky enough to get here before sundown to walk across. There are actually two spans at a 90degree angle. So cool!

Lunch spot

East head cafe, knysna . I had a bacon egg banana sandwich!

Tsitsikama falls

Awesome hour long adventure zipping back and forth along the river. I wish I was a guide, they do it ten times a day!

The little five

There are actually a little five, but these are just some common sightings.

Tent life

We stayed here for two nights while on safari. They had hot water, flush toilets, and comfortable beds.it made waking up at five really easy.

Groceries

Woolworths is really fancy here.

Golf estates

Large companies like to house their workers in manicured golf estates.

Back in civilization

We made it and saw four of the big five and more fun animals like giraffe, hippo, wart hog, etc. and our guide was crazy getting us stuck in a herd of buffalo in the bushes and moving the vehicle way too close to a male lion on the hunt.but it was all amazing and well worth the cost.

Another bbq

Last night was a long talking night with two south african girls. Tonight looks like I am the only non chinese speaker and only girl. The braai (bbq) lamb skewers are still fantastic. So I will hydrate myself and read while the boys night gets started.

Rain rain go away

The rain is coming down hard. Lightning and thunder and wind and rain woke me up at one, three, four and finally six. Todays the day we figure out how to drive pn the other side of the road then keep driving for seven more hours. Whoa.

But we just went to the kitchen to make a unique breakfast of blueberry muesli yogurt, corn on the cob, boiled canola egg, and goats milk. Apparently woolworths is like whole foods here and oir hosts workplace gives him gift cards there for food on the weekend.

Just walked past a meeting with my big bag and this smirk I couldn't get rid of. Smiling with joy then trying to hide that joy. So bad! I felt like my presence was a smear like "ha ha I get to go travel now and you re struck in a meeting!". And then I was blushing real bad. Why are there fishbowl meeting rooms?

Countdown: 10 days to go

10 days to go until we lift off!
All the sleeping places are booked, and I didn't book a single one...I'm so happy that my handsome travel partner has my back and I've got a ton of surprises in store for me over there (since I didn't do anything but look up the best safari). ^_^

1st stop- Zurich (for hot cocoa, i imagine)
2nd stop- Jo'berg, South Africa...go watch The Power of One. Apparently Jo'berg looks like the photo on the left <------ not what I thought!
